FULL SUNSHINE DEVELOPS TODAY… CLOUDS INCREASE IN WESTERN AREAS SATURDAY WITH SCATTERED SHOWERS NORTHWEST CT AND SOUTHERN BERKSHIRES BY EVENING, LIKELY DRY ELSEWHERE… SUNDAY DRIER
Good morning folks, our mostly ho-hum weather episode continues as we remain within this rather blocked upper air pattern with an upper low in Atlantic Canada not really going anywhere, and upper low over the northern Rockies, and general ridge of high pressure in between with surface high pressure building south out of Quebec into the northeast U.S. This will keep us mostly rain-free until mid next week.
As for today, full sunshine is developing with lighter winds compared to yesterday and highs in the 55-60º range (possibly a few low 50s in SVT/SWNH and far northern MA), with lows in the low to mid 30s under partly cloudy skies with patchy frost possible.
Saturday looks like a more partly sunny day with highs in the upper 40s to mid 50s with clouds slowly building west of the I-91 corridor and south of Rt. 2 as a system works southeast out of the eastern Great Lakes, but is shunted mostly west of us due to the lingering upper low in Atlantic Canada.
While most of us in the greater WMass region should remain dry, the system should get close enough to us by later afternoon and overnight to push some rain showers into western CT and into the southern Berkshires over to western Hampden County, with a sharp cut off in the precip shield to the northeast expected.
I will keep an eye on it, as it could pull away to the southwest, which would keep us all drier for Saturday evening with lows in the 30s.
Then we’ll push into the Sunday through Tuesday timeframe looks generally looks partly sunny with higher pressure re-asserting itself, along with highs in the 55-60º range and lows in the 35-40º range.
#No #Big #Whoop
By mid week, a cold front that holds the potential to sweep our lazy, lollygagging, sleepy upper low FINALLY out to sea could bring some showers to the region by later in the day and especially Wednesday night into Thursday with similar temps.
As the Mary Tyler Moore theme crooned, we’re gonna make it after all!
Have a great day!
