A CALM PAIR OF COOL DAYS FOLLOWED BY 3 WEAK BOUNDARIES OR SYSTEMS THAT BRING GENERALLY LIGHT PRECIP THURSDAY NIGHT, FRIDAY NIGHT, AND PERHAPS A BIT MORE ON SUNDAY NIGHT...

Good morning folks, we’ve got a big area of high pressure expanding and slightly strengthening into New England today and tomorrow, so that will help bring light winds, increasingly sunny skies, and fair weather with cold temperatures for today and tomorrow before we warm up through the weekend.

Highs today will rise into the 30s with lows in the upper teens to mid 20s, followed by highs in the 30s to low 40s for Thursday, with lows in the 20s, so a sweet, quiescent, late-winter pair of calm days shall be bestowed upon our hills and dales.

We do have a chance for a few scattered snow showers Thursday night with a weak warm front, and I can’t rule out some Berkshires dustings here and there, but it looks like a weak precipitation event overall.

By Friday, a partly sunny day looks likely with milder highs in the mid 40s to low 50s, with increasing clouds later in the day ahead of another frontal boundary and weak Clipper system that should push some rain showers in here Friday night into Saturday morning, with some snow or ice mix possible north of Rt. 2, especially in the southern Greens in VT. Lows will dip into the low to mid 30s.

The weekend continues to bring uncertainty with the forecast, but I do think as of this writing that the driest period will be Saturday afternoon into Sunday mid-day before more rain with some elevation-dependent mix moves in Sunday afternoon or night into very early Monday morning.

In other words, I’m not seeing a ton of sunshine over the weekend at the moment, nor am I seeing big storm impacts, either.

Highs Saturday should reach the 45-50º range, followed by a Sunday that’s a bit milder with highs in the upper 40s to mid 50s, with lows in the low to mid 30s Saturday night, and similar for Sunday night.

After the Sunday night system clears the region and pulls its cold front through, we’ll cool down into the upper 30s to mid 40s by next Monday and Tuesday with at least partly sunny skies and fair weather developing.

Have a great day, peeps!
