LOVELY MONDAY FOLLOWED BY INCREASING HEAT AND EVENTUALLY HUMIDITY BY LATER WEEK AS SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM CHANCES INCREASE… MOSTLY DRY THROUGH WEDNESDAY… HEAT WAVE POSSIBLE...

Good morning folks, we made it to another morning! Most mornings I wake up and say “still here”, as this whole life thing continues to roll on in all of its ups, downs, twists and turns. As for our weather, we will be twisting and turning into hotter and more humid conditions for the second half of this week with an increasing risk for showers and thunderstorms by the second half of the week.

For today, we’ve got what I would call perfect weather. Sunshine, dry, a bit of a northerly breeze that calms down later, low humidity, and highs in the 70s to 80º. Be sure to get outside and enjoy it if you can! Lows will drop to either side of 50º under clear skies, so we’ll have another cool morning out the door for Tuesday A.M.

The high pressure responsible for the next 24 hours of peace-in-the-valley weather will slide from New England today, to south of New England over the western Atlantic Ocean by tomorrow, putting us into a return southerly flow of warmer temperatures.

Highs Tuesday will climb into the mid to upper 80s under mostly sunny skies, but humidity should still be reasonable and mostly comfortable, with lows Tuesday night dropping to either side of 60º.

By Wednesday, a warm front will be approaching from the west which will help to increase cloudiness as the day wears on. Highs will likely hang again somewhere in the 80s if enough cloud cover is present.

In addition, by very late afternoon or evening, we could see some warm-frontal showers push into the region with lows near 60º.

Behind the front, we are going to heat up, and some of us will experience a heat wave that extends from the late-week period through the weekend, after which a cold front should move through and cool us down for at least the first part of next week.

Highs Thursday through Sunday look to rise into the mid 80s to low 90s for many of us (maybe low 80s for some SVT high terrain areas), and humidity will be notably increasing.

This combo along with some impulses tracking west to east into our region will help spawn some afternoon scattered showers, downpours and thunderstorms for Thursday and Friday afternoon at least.

By the weekend, we have a better chance of drying out though likely remaining very warm to hot, so hopefully we can salvage a summah weekend out of this upcoming pattern!

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day!
