WICKED COLD THIS MORNING, MILDER WEEKEND, AND FRIGID AGAIN BY MONDAY MORNING… NO BIG STORMS IN SIGHT, BUT SEVERAL CHANCES FOR SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS INCLUDING TOMORROW MORNING...

Good morning folks, the light and the temps are very low at this moment, so remember to focus on stuff that brings light into your heart or a spark to your life, as we need to nurture those types of things this time of year. It is super cold outside, and my Maine Coon Cat (meaning, he’s TOUGH) recoiled at the cold this morning when I went to let him on the porch, so that tells you something!

As for our weather, temps now either side of 0º will only rise into the upper teens to mid 20s as high pressure now directly overhead will slowly shift east and out to sea.

As that high gets out of the way, a Mid-Atlantic low pressure system will scoot east out to sea well south of us overnight with clouds increasing here (especially south of the Pike) and lows dipping into the mid to upper teens. A few snow showers are possible Saturday morning a little trough or boundary tries to focus some activity into our region, but by afternoon any snow showers should be done.

Highs Saturday will be milder with southerly flow, rising into the mid to upper 30s so we will see some snow melt, and with lows Saturday night dropping into the upper teens, more black ice is expected with any snow melt refreezing.

Sunday starts off partly sunny and highs will rise into the low to mid 30s as another Arctic cold front presses east into the region. A period of snow showers or light to moderate snow is expected Sunday night with the front, and some light accumulations are possible, but I will have update you as we get closer.

The bottom line is that westerly winds will pick up again overnight, and our lows will plummet down into the upper singles to low teens with highs on Monday only in the upper teens to mid 20s under sunny skies.

Thereafter, we crash temps Monday night, plummeting to either side of 0º once again, setting us up for a partly sunny Tuesday with highs in the mid to upper 20s.

The Tuesday night through Friday timeframe carries much uncertainty, but there are up to 3 disturbances that could impact us with relatively light snow/rain events, so for now I am going to leave it at that, and will keep you in the know for that mid to late week timeframe as we get closer.

Have a great day!
