MORE RAIN FOR ONE MORE DAY WITH UP TO AN INCH ADDITIONAL POSSIBLE… RAIN ENDS TONIGHT, THEN SUNNIER & WARMER MID TO LATE WEEK… A FEW SHOWERS BY FRIDAY, THEN COOLER NEXT WEEKEND…

Good morning folks, we’re waking up and moving into one more showery day as our storm continues to weaken to the east of the NJ coastline. It’s positioned over the open water now, and will track east-northeast today toward the Cape and Gulf of Maine while directing periods of ocean-enhanced rainfall northwest into the greater WMass region today as it comes east with showers ending later tonight and sunshine arriving later tomorrow!

For today, expect a cool, cloudy day with highs in the mid to upper 50s and periods of rainfall to move through the region as our storm makes one final pass to our south and southeast before going the way of the dodo, which is one of my favorite lines from the movie “The Holdovers”, which I love dearly.

The wind energy is gone from this storm, but some isolated areas of street flooding is possible, and the Flood Watch in Worcester County continues through tonight as some towns there have already received 3-5” of rain since this storm started Friday night, and up to an inch or so of additional rain is possible anywhere in the greater WMass region, of which CMass is a part.

So, periods of rain today will last into tonight and then quit by midnight or so with lows dropping into the 45-50º range with some patchy fog developing late.

Once we reach Tuesday, I only see a couple of chances for only a few showers through the upcoming weekend.

In other words, there will be abundant sightings of a yellow-white sky orb in (all of all places) the sky, because that’s where yellow-white sky orbs live, go figure!

We’ll start off mostly cloudy Tuesday morning with some patchy fog, and then we should see continuing drying from the northwest, which will eventually break the cloud deck up into a partly sunny sky with highs climbing well into the 60s for highs, followed by lows in the 45-50º range.

Once we reach Wednesday into Thursday, our high pressure cell will pass to our south turning our flow southerly, which will increase our sunshine through mid-week and our temperatures as well!

Highs should reach the upper 60s to mid 70s on Wednesday (with lows in the low to mid 50s) followed by a toasty lift into the mid to upper 70s for highs on Thursday!

Thursday provides an excellent opportunity for outdoor activities, and maybe even a quick one-day late-season beach getaway to kick off the month of October! Those days are fleeting fast, folks, so get out and enjoy it.

By Friday, a frontal boundary may bring a few showers but highs should still climb into the low to mid 70s under partly sunny skies, followed by lows in the upper 40s to low 50s.

By next weekend, I think we kick it off with a lovely Saturday, albeit with cooler highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. By Sunday, we may start off dry, but could end with a few showers as another system tries to make a run at us, but that’s a loooooong way away in The Weather Department, so I will update you as we get closer.

In the meantime, don the galoshes and have a great day!
