SUNNY, WARMER, WINDY TODAY AND TUESDAY WITH ENHANCED FIRE RISK SPREAD FRONT AND CENTER… WEDNESDAY BECOMES SHOWERY WITH SOME THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE, LINGERING INTO THURSDAY MORNING…
Good morning folks, May the Fourth be with you! Ugh, I know it’s a painful and pretty-tired Star Wars nerd joke, but I *am* wishing you whatever positive forces that exist in our Cosmos, world and hearts to release themselves within and without you and your people today and always, and we can start with a pair of lovely Spring-ier days with sun, warmth and wind.
For today and tomorrow, the pressure gradient between an incoming showery cold front for mid-week and surface high pressure to our south will produce warmth-pumping southwest wind gusts of 20-35mph today and 25-40mph tomorrow under mostly sunny skies.
These conditions will definitely enhance the risk for ground fires to spread so please be mindful of your neighbors and extinguish butts responsibly, and do the same for managing any spring brush burns.
Highs will reach the mid 60s to low 70s today, and after lows either side of 50º tonight highs will soar well into the 70s for Tuesday, which will represent peak warmth for this short stretch.
Clouds will build in our northwestern zones on Tuesday afternoon and I can’t rule out a shower or thunderstorms in SVT, SWNH or far northwest MA, though SVT would be closer to the dynamics at play to pop a cell.
Lows Tuesday night will dip into the 50s, and we can expect more in the way of scattered showers as the cold front starts to push towards New England.
By Wednesday, the front will be headed in, and periods of rainfall will develop with embedded thunder possible. I’d say that by mid-day or so, rain should be come steadier with periods of showers rotating through the region.
Highs Wednesday will be firmly in the 60s, and lows will dip into the 40s with showers continuing overnight and winding down by Thursday morning at some point.
Highs Thursday should only reach the upper 50s to low 60s under partly sunny skies with lows in the mid 30s to low 40s as that front and storm pull fully away and out to sea.
Friday gives us a sunny end to the week with highs in the mid 50s to low 60s and lows in the 30s .
The Saturday through Monday period looks like a showery sandwich with a sunny Sunday filling, so for now expect periods of scattered showers on Saturday, a sunnier Sunday, and the potential for more rain on Monday with high temps in the upper 50s to mid 60s Saturday and the 60s on Sunday into Monday.
Have a great day and think of a great, enjoyable moment that happened sometime in your past and sit with it for a minute, soak it up!
“Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you where there were only walls.”
