A FEW SNOW SHOWERS OVERNIGHT, OTHERWISE FAIR WEATHER RULES THROUGH MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK… THE MILDENING IS COMING WITH 40s FOR HIGHS BY TUESDAY…
Good morning folks, the big weather news of the day is the slowly increasing temperatures that will continue from today right through the middle of next week as we emerge out of our coldest Winter since 1993-94 (through the mid-February period).
There isn’t much storminess to talk about, though we do have a few snow showers that will work through region overnight tonight, but they should amount to the level of #NoBigWhoop (meaning, little to no impact, maybe isolated coatings in the mountains west of I-91).
Otherwise, we can expect increasingly mild temperatures to develop through the greater WMass region from today through next Thursday, after which we’ll have our next storm threat to monitor for Friday.
Highs today / Friday will reach the mid 20s to mid 30s under mostly sunny skies with lows in the teens as a weak shortwave dives southeast and brings a few snow showers through the region.
For Saturday, we’ll start off with some cloudiness and move into a partly sunny day on average with highs in the 30s with a westerly wind that will gust up to 25mph at times. Lows will drop into the teens under mostly clear skies.
For Sunday, highs will reach the low to mid 30s under mostly sunny skies with lows in the teens as a few more snow showers develop as a warm front moves through the region.
By Monday through Wednesday, more sunshine is expected as temps are set to go UP, with seasonable highs in the 35-40º range for Monday, followed by above-seasonable high temps for Tuesday and Wednesday as we climb into the low to mid 40s, with lows in the 20s during this period.
By late in the week, there is another storm signal to watch and the track of that system will play a role in our precipitation type. Beyond that, there’s not much to talk about with a signal that’s 7 days out, but I will keep an eye on it and report back here as we get closer.
Have a great day!
