COLD WIND CHILL TODAY AND TONIGHT AS BERKSHIRE/SVT SNOW SHOWERS END THIS MORNING… BLUSTERY TODAY AND TONIGHT, WITH BREEZY CONDITIONS TUESDAY...
Good morning folks, here we are, still corkscrewing through Space on a giant living circus spaceship with Weather as our buffer between Earth and Space. That weather has been standing up since yesterday and overnight into this morning with plenty of wind that will continue to gust out of thew est 25-40mph today.
In fact, some wind chills this morning are way down into the teens, so bundle up if you’re heading out, and if you’ve already headed out, hopefully you’ve bundled up!
Snow showers over the Litchfields, Berkshires, western hilltowns, and southern VT will wind down as a shortwave pulls its moisture east and away, but we did have some light accumulations overnight, with Pittsfield receiving a bit over 1.5” of snow. If you live out that way, please post some pics and/or let me know how much snow you measured in your town!
We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds today with highs in the mid 30s to low 40s, though some areas in southern VT will hang near freezing, and wind chills will hang in the 20s today, so a cold one lies ahead, and I don’t mean a beer (though some of you may opt for that at the end of a long day… have one for me!)
For tonight, it’ll continue to be windy at times with gusts of 20-30mph at times, and lows in the mid to upper 20s.
The Tuesday through Thursday period will feature slackening wind, increasing sunshine, and a very slow nudge-up in high temps as high pressure slowly waddles east through New England by late week.
Highs generally will reach the 40-45º range with lows in the mid to upper 20s, and we can expect increasing sunshine during this period with dry conditions, and parlty cloudy to mostly clear nights.
By Friday, high pressure will scoot south of us and cause a brief return southerly flow to push our highs into the mid 40s to low 50s for a day, but this will also be accompanied by low pressure passing to our north.
That low center will try to interact with some moisture near the Mid-Atlantic and should produce a period of showers or scattered showers for Friday into Friday night, possibly lasting into Saturday morning, but we’ll need to get closer before I can parse that out for you.
Temps should cool behind the front, down into the 40s for highs and 20s for lows over the weekend, with Sunday being the pick of the weekend with sunshine expected as of now, and no big storms until after Thanksgiving, the way I see it currently.
Have a great day!
