PATCHY DENSE FOG EARLY DISSIPATES INTO A LOVELY DAY… SOME SCATTERED SATURDAY AFTERNOON SHOWERS POSSIBLE, OTHERWISE FAIR WEATHER DOMINATES LABOR DAY WEEKEND INTO MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK

Good morning everybody, here we go again, cosmically hurled through the Universe at 1.3 million mph (and we call thunderstorm wind gusts of 58mph “severe”) on a live blue spinning orb, swinging around a much larger yellow-white fireball, at the edge of a starry pinwheel – what a circus! Our weather for this (our last Summer) weekend will be much less dramatic than that celestial dance, so let’s jump into the details.

For today, we’ve got patchy dense fog that formed this early morning, but as temps come up, that will evaporate by mid-morning, revealing the slowly-gaining influence of high pressure to our northwest.

Expect partly to mostly sunny skies (more clouds by afternoon) with highs in the mid 70s to low 80s with a humid morning, followed by lowering mugginess by afternoon and especially overnight. Lows will drip into the 50s under mostly clear skies.

On Saturday, an upper low over Atlantic Canada will be pushed southwest into eastern Maine and New Brunswick, Canada (a “retrograde” motion or track) and that will push some instability back into parts of southern New England especially east of I-91.

Because of this, some scattered showers will be possible Saturday afternoon and evening. Highs will climb into the mid to upper 70s under partly to mostly sunny skies, with some cloudier periods possible east of I-91 Saturday afternoon. Lows will drop into the upper 40s to mid 50s with patchy fog possible late.

By Sunday through Tuesday, that upper low will muscled east by increasing high pressure to our northwest, and this should set us up with higher pressure, increased, full sunshine, and highs in the low to mid 70s Sunday with highs in the mid to upper 70s Sunday and Monday.

We’ll see strong radiational cooling on Sunday night with a taste of Fall and lows in the mid 40s to low 50s by early Monday morning, followed by lows in the 50s Monday night and Tuesday night as well.

Once we reach Wednesday, I will be watching the potential for a strong low pressure system in southern Canada swinging east through southern Quebec.

For now, Wednesday looks nice as well with partial sunshine and highs in the 70s, but clouds may be increasing by afternoon and evening, with a chance for rain showers and some wind late Wednesday night through Thursday before a front swings through, and we clear back out by late week or the following weekend.

Have a great day!
