A FEW SCATTERED AFTERNOON SHOWERS TODAY FOLLOWED BY MORE NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND DOWNPOURS ARRIVING SUNDAY MORNING, LASTING INTO THE DAY… A COUPLE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE...
Good morning folks, if you’re reading this your alive and either through the power of your own sight or with the assistance of ophthalmological assistance, and what a blessing that truly is, something to be grateful for. While we don’t have the greatest weather this weekend, I do think that today will be the pick with drier conditions overall vs. Sunday which looks more humid, more showery, and should also provide us with potential for downpours and thunderstorms at times, which may cause some untoward impacts.
For today, a storm is passing off of the southeast New England coast bringing a few showers and drizzle there, but for us in the greater WMass region, I think we’ll be mostly dry and despite mostly cloudy skies may get some sunny periods scattered about. Highs will be cool all weekend long, in the upper 60s to mid 70s.
Clouds will increase tonight with lows in the mid 50s to low 60s as a storm gathers strength to our south and pushes into southwest New England for Sunday.
Sunday morning looks pretty wet right now with periods of showers and even some downpours as moisture increases quite a bit, with a very humid day developing into the afternoon.
This will be due to a warm front, and you can’t ever rule out a thunderstorm with these types of tracks / setups, but I think any potential thunderstorm activity holds off until later afternoon and evening.
At that time, a cold front will be sweeping towards our region, and so I think by mid afternoon into the evening we’ll see scattered areas of showers, downpours and thunderstorms, and a few cells could produce strong gusty winds and street flooding.
The front will move through overnight and drop our lows into the 50s as drier air works into the region.
Monday through Wednesday look to be partly to mostly sunny with highs in the low 70s to low 80s and lows in the 50s for a lovely first half to next week with high pressure moving in.
Beyond that, another upper low in the Great Lakes region will sweep a disturbance along to the east and set us up for the chance of a few more showers either Thursday or Friday with seasonably warm temps.
Have a great day!
