LIGHT ICING IN SVT, ELEVATED AREAS OF NORTHERN MA, & EASTERN SWNH THIS MORNING WITH SHOWERS ELSEWHERE, TAPERING BY NOON… COLD, MISTY AT TIMES. MORE SHOWERS WITH LIGHT ICING TONITE

Good morning everybody, we’ve got strong high pressure continues to press east along the U.S./Canadian border, and the clockwise flow around it is driving colder surface air down into our region for today.

That means a cold and raw day lies ahead with rain (and some freezing rain in northern/elevated areas) this morning tapering to a few spot showers and patchy drizzle by afternoon. Highs will hang in the 30s to low 40s as a result – dress appropriately!

As the cold front that passed to our south overnight returns as a warm front later tonight, another round of scattered showers will work into the region. With temps still near or just below freezing in the northern Berkshires, elevated parts of northern Franklin County, northern CMass and up into the southern Greens of VRT and eastern SWNH, more light freezing rain is possible.

Lows in the 30s will rip into the low to mid 60s behind the warm front for Friday with a mixed cloud/sun sky as precipitation lifts well north of our region. Lows will dip into the low 40s to near 500 at night and Friday will breezy out of the west as well.

The weekend looks split, with increasing sunshine and warm temps on Saturday with highs in the 60s to near 70º, followed by a few scattered showers Saturday night in the pre-frontal zone ahead of our cold frontal passage Sunday.

Clouds will thicken Sunday morning, and rain will move into the region with gusty southerlies early ahead of the cold front.

Our cold front will bring rain during the middle part of the day, and that will cool us down into the first half of next week with highs generally in the upper 30 sto upper 40s zone. Other than few showers Tuesday, we should be dry through Wednesday.

Have a great day!
