HEAT AND HUMIDITY HAVE LEFT THE BUILDING, EXIT STAGE RIGHT… COOLER, MORE SEASONABLE CONDITIONS PERSIST INTO WEDNESDAY WITH A COUPLE SHOWERS POSSIBLE, MORE RAIN BY THURSDAY

Good morning everybody, as you can see in the attached chart areas north of the CT/MA state line saw the bulk of the overnight rainfall, and some folks got a very good drink of sky water, upwards of over an inch in some areas.

That rain signaled a change in air mass, and so we can expect cooler to more seasonable warm temps during the days and cool nights ahead with Thursday being the only real wet weather day of that I can see over the next 7.

For our Monday, it’ll be breezy out of the west as showers pull away with gusts up to 20mph as sunshine develops and tops out our temps into the upper 60s to upper 70s. Lows will drop to either side of 50º.

Tuesday will be a tad milder with highs well into the 70s to low 80s as weaker high pressure positions to our south, and sunny skies will rule. Lows again will drop to either side of 50º.

By Wednesday, strong Canadian low pressure will drop south into the western Great Lakes region and be directed eastward toward New England. This may serve to produce a more partly sunny sky along with a few showers by later Wednesday. Highs will rise into the mid 70s to low 80s with lows in the 50s and an increasing chance for showers.

By Thursday, we should be looking at showery day with some thunderstorms possible as stronger low pressure arrives into northern NY and tracks east-northeast up the St. Lawrence River Valley. Highs will reach to either side of 80º with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s.

After some morning showers Friday, sunshine should be developing as high pressure builds in behind our Thursday system. At the moment, Friday looks to be the start of a wonderful 3-day stretch of sunny weather with highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s with tolerable humidity levels.

Thanks for reading, and have a great day!
