COLD FRONTAL RAINFALL MOVES THROUGHT TONIGHT, THEN COLDER AIR WITH WINDIER CONDITIONS ARRIVES FOR THANKSGIVING DAY, THOUGH IT WILL BE DRY...

Good evening everybody, I hope everyone is gearing up for a hopefully enjoyable day with friends and/or family, or if you’re just hanging solo which I’ve done plenty in my life, I hope it’s a peaceful, relaxing day for you.

As far as our weather is concerned, we’ve got rain already moving through the Berkshires and southern VT, and some showers are on the heavier side. Additional activity over central and eastern NY will track southwest to northeast thru the greater WMass region, mostly before midnight, and it could briefly rain heavily at times.

We experienced high temps in the 50s to low 60s today, which was quite mild for this time of year, but Reality’s Whooshening (the title of my new novel) will drop lows down into the upper 20s to mid 30s during the pre-dawn hours as wind picks up out of the southwest and gusts up to 25mph by Thanksgiving Morning.

After that, southwesterly to westerly wind will pick up during the day and gust 20-30mph at times with drying conditions and mostly sunny skies developing, so aside from some early patchy black ice and a little “10 and 2″ on the high-terrain highways, travel should be largely to completely unaffected by weather.

Lows Thanksgiving night will drop into the low to mid 20s, and some lake effect snow flurries may dot some Berkshires towns, but the lake effect machine won’t really turn on until Friday.

Friday looks windier and colder, with highs mostly in the 30s and gusts 30-45mph, so wind chill will dip into the 20s at times. In addition, we’ll see scattered lake effect snow showers at times, and some caotings to an inch or so will be possible by Friday night in the Berkshires, western hilltowns and SVT.

In fact, some areas in SVT in the Green Mountains could see 1-4” or even a little more in spots.

I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving! I will post tomorrow morning, but probably not until about 8am or 9am-ish as I want to sleep in for a bit… who am I kidding, I gotta get the turkey in the oven early!!

Enjoy your time!
