CLOUDS BUILD WITH SCATTERED SHOWERS MIDNIGHT TO SUNRISE. GUSTY & MILD SATURDAY, WITH LIGHT WIND BY SUNDAY, SUNSHINE THROUGH THE WEEKEND WITH SUNDAY NIGHT SHOWERS. WARMING NEXT WEEK

Good afternoon folks, it’s been a lovely end to the work week, and will be a pleasant early evening as clouds start to build from the west ahead of an incoming cold front.

This front will push scattered showers through the greater WMass region overnight, mainly after midnight and be gone by the early morning with not a whole lot to show it for itself.

Lows will bottom out in the upper 30s to mid 40s, and behind the front we’ll see northwest winds kick up and gust 15-30mph on Saturday morning with clearing skies developing.

Saturday and Sunday both look lovely with highs well into the 50s thanks to high pressure moving west to east through our region. It’ll be breezier on Saturday vs. Sunday, with lows near freezing Saturday night.

By Sunday night, a warm front will be extending toward our region from NY state with high pressure positioning itself to our southeast.

This will produce southwest flow and an area of scattered showers mostly north of the Pike Sunday night into early Monday morning with lows near 40º.

Monday is a transition day in terms of sky cover and temperatures. Highs will be warmer, cresting to either side of 70º under partly sunny skies as another weak trailing wave sets up to potentially push some more light shower activity into our region by evening.

We’ll then see a warm surge push in by Tuesday as southwest flow and an upper ridge becomes more dominant, with highs well into the 70s Tuesday into mid week, and possibly cresting 80º.

Overall, temps look warm next week, although there will be a back door cold front nearby. Regardless, for now, next week looks warm with a couple of shower chances with more dry and partly sunny conditions mixed in as well.

Have a great end to your week!

YOUR NUTSHELL:
–Beautiful afternoon continues with clouds increasing early tonight
–A cold front brings scattered showers through the region, lows upper 30s to mid 40s

–Sunshine develops by later Saturday morning with northwest winds gusting 15-30mph behind the cold front
–Highs will reach well into the 50s all weekend long under mostly sunny skies, so it’ll be a fairly seasonable early April period
–Saturday night looks clear with lows near the freezing mark, but clouds will increase on Sunday keeping temps up a bit, bottoming out near 40º
–Another band of warm frontal showers will push through mostly north of the Pike, and possibly even north of Rt. 2 into very early Monday morning
–Monday is our transition from Spring to Summah with highs either side of 70º under partly sunny skies with a few afternoon showers possible
–High pressure continues to scoot south of us and by Tuesday should help push temps well into the 70s and possibly cresting 80º
