ANOTHER ROUND OF SHOWERS WITH EMBEDDED THUNDER AND HEAVY RAIN AT TIMES FOR TONIGHT, MOSTLY NORTH OF THE PIKE...
Good afternoon everybody, with later-day sunshine we’ve shot up into the 60s to mid 70s in the valley and southern parts of WMass, CMass and northern CT with temps in the upper 70s down there.
However, the backdoor cold front has already puyshed into eastern parts of SWNH, far northeast CMass and even in SVT where temps are in the upper 40s to upper 50s, with upper 50s to low 60s in the rest of northern MA, western SWNH and SVT.
A cluster of showers, downpours and thunderstorms have formed in western NY and are tracking east through NY state and will eventually weaken as they arrive in the WMass region after 7pm.
This weakening will likely reduce thunderstorm strength, if any survive into our region, but some thunder is still possible along with heavy rain or downpours, and I will keep an eye on things as we do have a severe thunderstorm producing large hail way out in western NY.
Again, while it could shower anywhere in the region tonight, this first part of the night activity for now looks to impact areas mainly along and north of the Pike in WMass, SVT, SWNH and CMass.
Have a great night, Dave.
