Good afternoon folks, we’ve seen heavy snow at times in southern VT and northwest MA, with snow showers in other spots, flurries in others, and even some graupel in milder valley areas, with little to no snow in northern CT so far through the late afternoon.

There is a potent primary and cohesive lake effect snow band setting up off of Lake Ontario and oriented and tracking east-southeast toward the northern Berkshires, far southern Bennington County and western Franklin County as of this writing.

This band will track east-southeast, with the whole complex sinking south with time as it tracks in that trajectory.

This ensure that just about everybody in the Berkshires sees at least a coating to an inch, and up to 3″ under the heaviest snow bands or snow showers, and this applies to the western hilltowns of WMass as well as northern Litchfield County CT.

Some west-facing slopes could see 2-5″ of snowfall, and Winter Weather Advisories continue for northern Berkshire County through 10pm tonight.
