EVAPORATIVE COOLING AND HIGHER RELATIVE HUMIDITY IN SOUTHERN BERKSHIRES AND NORTHWEST CT MEANS RAIN WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP AND TRACK NORTHEAST...
Good afternoon folks, just a quick update to say that the observations indicate much cooler temps over northwest CT and southwest MA in response to evaporative cooling that has been sustained for hours, while high pressure to our east has provided a dry surface for rain to fall and evaporate into.
Some reports of rain have come in for northern CT, but I”m curious as to what you are seeing if you are in southern parts of WMass or CT (I know it’s not raining north of those areas).
Rain and drizzle will continue to develop at the surface in northwest CT and southwest MA, and that will track northeast into this evening.
One note is that areas of far southeast VT into northern parts of central/eastern Franklin County into northern CMass and SWNH may see less rain this evening due to lingering dry air, though that will change for all of us on Sunday… Dave.
