LAKE EFFECT SNOW POTENTIAL IS BUILDING FOR THE BERKSHIRES, LITCHFIELDS, WESTERN HILLTOWNS AND SVT THE FRIDAY AFTER THANKSGIVING...
Good morning everybody, now that we’ve started a new work week I can see that the pressure gradient likely to form from the low pressure that drags a cold front through the region Thanksgiving morning will produce a blustery Thursday AND Friday.
In addition, a longer-duration west-northwesterly fetch off of Lake Ontario is likely to help produce periods of snow showers over NY state that will track east-southeast into southwestern New England.
While this doesn’t look like a major event, areas in the Berkshires, Taconics and other nearby high terrain areas in the greater WMass region could see a coating to an inch or so of snow in more persistent snow bands.
It will also be quite cold Friday AND Saturday, with highs only reaching the upper 20s to upper 30s region-wide!!
I will keep you updated, and in the meantime, have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
