WHITE XMAS CHANCES INCREASING THANKS TO TUESDAY SNOW POTENTIAL... CALM SATURDAY, GUSTIER LATER TONIGHT AND SUNDAY WITH A COLD FRONT MOVING THROUGH...

Good late morning everybody, today is gonna be a nice one! The wind is down and will continue to soften until later tonight and Sunday morning when it will back up ahead of an incoming cold front (with more wind to come behind that).

Highs today will reach the 30s with mostly sunny skies early and some clouds moving in with a warm front that passes thru tonight. A few snow showers in SVT or far northwest MA is possible, but it’s likely dry everywhere with lows in the 20s.

Southwest winds will gust 20-30mph at times late tonight and especially Sunday morning ahead of the incoming cold front and temps will climb into the mid 30s to low 40s before collapsing back into teens by Sunday night as west and northwest winds pick up and gust 20-30mph behind the frontal passage, which may also develop a few high terrain snow showers.

In fact, wind chills may dive into the single digits to near 0º or some late Sunday night, so Monday morning looks like a blustery cold start.

If Archie Bunker were a caring man and weather nut, but still with an anger problem, he’d say “Eeeedittt, WILL. YOU. BUNDLE!” out of love, care and concern for her Monday morning comfort and safety. ;-)

We’re looking cold on Monday with highs only in the 20s to low 30s with a light northwest wind under sunny skies, and lows are destined to drop down into the teens to low 20s as clouds increase overnight ahead of our next system.

A Canadian low pressure system will be curling a warm front under the greater WMass region, so it should remain cold enough to produce a widespread light accumulating snow with some moderate bursts possible starting Tuesday morning and lasting through the day before ending as some mix, drizzle or just flurries (I have to get closer to figure that out better).

For now this looks like a mostly snow, 1-3″ type deal with lower amounts in the southern valley and highest amounts in the hills and mountains, of course.

Still, with highs on Wednesday in the upper 20s to mid 30s with dry conditions, we should be able to hold on to a couple inches of snow into XMas.

From Christmas Day forward into Saturday, temps will be getting milder and we may see a few showers on either Christmas Day or more likely the day after XMas.

I will refine and parse out all of the details from XMas forward as we get closer, but I don’t expect any day-of travel problems.

Have a great day!
