Snowstorm Potential This Weekend: Report for 1/21/2020

[ALL EYES ON THIS WEEKEND, SNOW/ICE STORM POSSIBLE] VERY COLD START THIS MORNING… TEMPS SLOWLY REBOUND THROUGH THE REST OF THIS WEEK WITH FAIR WEATHER… CLOUDS INCREASE SATURDAY MORNING AND SNOW AND RAIN ARRIVES SATURDAY EVENING AND MAY LAST THROUGH ALL OF SUNDAY… POTENTIAL LONG DURATION, WINTRY COASTAL SYSTEM WITH DIFFERING IMPACTS DEPENDING ON LOCATION… A DEDICATION TO A GREAT MAN… (6:55am Tuesday)

Good morning everybody, the crescent moon rising it up in the southern sky was/is glorious this morning. I always love to see how the direction of the light hitting in the Moon indicates the position of our star relative to the Earth and Moon, triangulating my position in the Cosmos amongst those three celestial bodies. I suggest you do the same, as no matter what happens in this world, it puts you into a peaceful, present moment where you are One with the Universe.

As for our daily weather, it’s freakin’ cold outside, dudes and dudettes!! What the Cripes!

Today is quite simple: mostly sunny, cold, calm. Highs will be in the low to mid 20s, and lows in the upper single digits to near 10 degrees or so.

A large area of high pressure will continue to press east into the Ohio Valley through the week.

For tomorrow, more sunshine will visit upon us, and temps will come up about 10 degrees, with highs in the low to mid 30s and lows in the teens under mostly clear skies.

Said high pressure will track east and off the coast, turning our flow out of the southwest, inducing a noticeable but not remarkable Mildening.

Highs will be in the upper 30s to low 40s on Thursday with lows in the low to mid 20s under mostly sunny and mostly clear skies.

For Friday and Friday night, expect the same temperature profile as Thursday and Thursday night but more clouds and moisture will start to stream into the New England region ahead of our storm system for the upcoming weekend.

Lots of uncertainty remains regarding impacts for this upcoming weekend.

We won’t have an antecedent air mass of deep cold, but if a secondary storm develops far enough south, and if high pressure positions itself like its signaling it will, it could tap and drain that cold Canadian air in eastern Canada down and give at least some of us a long-duration snow and ice storm from Saturday evening through all of Sunday and Sunday night.

There’s no sense in talking amounts, and I won’t be able to answer any questions yet as to how your travel plans will be impacted, because I don’t know yet. It’s not clear, but please do stay tuned this week and I will keep you updated on the latest and greatest with our storm potential.

As you can see in the attached map, we have three cyclones in the Pacific. They are spaced apart about every 4-5 days, and we will be watching each to see if they rain or snow on our parades into early February.

Have a great day…

<3 A HEARTFELT DEDICATION <3 I want to let you know that a great man left this Earth a week and a half ago, and the memorial services and rituals for his close-knit community to remember him and properly and lovingly send him off into the ethers have been completed. Jack Rosenblum made an indelible positive, helpful, and loving mark on our beloved WMass community for over 40 years. If you often find yourself saying "I really love WMass, it's a special place to live", I'm telling you right now that Jack's spirit, vibration, work and fellowship had a hand in generating that feeling tone in you, whether you knew him or not. Grief is unpredictable, shapeshifting, and has its way with you, pushing and pulling, and tossing you around whenever it feels like it. You just have to ride the bucking bronco of Grief. Sometimes it gives you a rest, sometimes it's a rough ride, and sometimes it'll just hurl you off to the side. Then you have to get back up, and ride it some more. You have no other choice. We must continue to live, love, create, and evolve. Today, all I feel is love for a great man who was a friend, mentor, and my housemate for almost 8 years - about as long as I've been running this page. Jack and his lovely wife-angel Corinne encouraged me the whole way until this moment to do what I love, to be helpful, to ask for support, and to strive to make improvements in this page and resource, and I will continue to do all of these things. It's hard to believe I can't have a conversation with him anymore, to informally take his counsel over breakfast, or to just have the opportunity to crack him up, which I very much enjoyed. But I can still see him, hear him, feel him, sense him. I believe that a piece of the people you love hop into your heart for safekeeping when they leave their bodies, and I know a piece of him is in mine. So thanks for everything Jack, and travel well my friend. RIP Jack Rosenblum <3
