Good morning everybody, I’m a bit under the weather so I apologize if Nonsense Pockets™ reveal themselves amongst my weather wording activities.

Certainly, areas in southern VT, a parts of the Berkshires, and most especially western CT saw the ground whiten for the first time this late Autumn, and we’re also getting snow in the western hilltowns this morning, but not so in the valley!
Here we got rain and plenty of it, with many areas seeing 0.75” to 2” of much needed sky water, woo hoo!
Out storm deepened to 988mb (which is pretty strong) and continues to retrograde west out of western CT (where snow accumulated overnight) and into southeast NY, destined for the western Catskills before it dives south, southeast and pulls east with the upper low later today with highs only reaching the upper 30s to upper 40s.
As this happens, any isolated showers during our lull period later this morning into mid-afternoon or so should fill back in with additional showers, especially east of the I-91 corridor and north of the Pike as one last rain band works in off the ocean tonight.
Additional light snow accumulations are possible in southern VT, southwest NH, and the northern Worcester Hills, and I will certainly keep an eye on this development and update later this afternoon. Lows will drop into the low to mid 30s.
As our storm tracks east underneath New England, another low pressure area will develop off to the northeast and these will pull east-northeast into Atlantic Canada on Saturday, helping to bring a few more showers through, true, but the main impact will be strengthening northwest wind gusts of 25-40mph Saturday AND Sunday.
Highs this weekend will range from the mid 30s to low 40s in the high terrain, and more firmly in the 40s in the Pioneer Valley, points south and east. We’ll see mostly cloudy skies Saturday with some partial sunshine well west of the CT River Valley, with more partly sunny skies on Sunday. Lows will dip to the low to mid 30s Saturday night, and then the upper 20s to low 30s Sunday night.
Monday is a sweet-looking, brief high pressure day with highs in the mid 40s to mid 50s, and lows in the low to mid 30s as clouds increase with showers developing toward dawn.
A low pressure center tracks north of us on Tuesday and drags a frontal boundary through with another period of showers (yay!), which will bring cooler air in by mid-week with highs in the 40s.
So travel looks fine for the day before Thanksgiving, and even the day of looks mostly dry with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s, but that night into Friday could feature yet another system as our pattern has changed to a cooler, stormier one, and it’s about time!
Could some of us see snow by Friday morning? You betcha! I will keep updating while I’m able to draw breath, and again I apologize for my meanderings.
