YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, Red Flag Warnings continue for all of WMass, CMass and northern CT with fairly breezy conditions out of the southwest today.
Early partial sunshine will become more filtered as low pressure tracks northeast through the Great Lakes and pushes a west-southwest to east-northeast tracking cold front toward southern New England later today and overnight.
Highs will be well into the 50s today, and any light showers should hold off until tonight given how dry it has been.
For tonight, lows will dip into the 40s with periods of light rain, but most of us will see under a quarter of an inch, so it won’t do much at all for the drought situation or scattered wildfires, but at least it’s not nothing.
For Monday, that front tracks east and some brief high pressure will build in with westerly flow and breezy conditions. Sunshine will develop and highs will rise quite a bit, well into the 60s, in fact, so expect a mild sunny Monday, but it won’t last.
———————–
By Monday night, a secondary, sharper but dry cold front will be tracking northwest to southeast into New England with lows in the mid 30s to low 40s and a few isolated showers possible.
Behind this front, a colder air mass moves into the region, and will do on strong northwesterlies that will gust 25-40mph at times, so I am sure Red Flag Warnings will need hoisting again for Tuesday, as fire spread risks increase substantially.
Highs for our blustery but mostly sunny Tuesday will only reach the mid 40s to low 50s with lows in the 20s. Highs on Wednesday will sit squarely in the 40s, most likely, under mostly sunny skies with lows in the 20s once again.
By late week into the weekend, our rain chances continue to diminish with Canadian high pressure likely keeping us cooler and drier with highs in the 40s and 50s and lows in the 20s and 30s during this period. I think we’ll now have to wait until next Monday for a chance at rainy relief, which we very much need.
Have a great day and with my 2025 calendar sale ending *TONIGHT*, if you value my work you can support it by ordering a calendar for you or two for your friends/family at the link below, thank you!
