Western Mass Weather for March 25, 2019

A CALM WEEK LIES AHEAD… COLD CONDITIONS LAST THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT, WITH MILDER CONDITIONS DURING THE SECOND HALF OF THE WEEK… OUTRIGHT WARM CONDITIONS POSSIBLE FOR SATURDAY AS SHOWERY WEATHER BECOMES MORE LIKELY… (6:05am Mon)

TODAY’S DATE: Monday, March 25, 2019

TERRESTRIAL:
HIGH AIR TEMPS: Highs should rise into the upper 30s in the Berkshires/Taconics/Litchfields, western hilltowns, SVT/SWNH, and N. Worcester County, while we reach the low/mid 40s for the Pioneer Valley floor down into northern CT and in S. Worcester County.

LOW AIR TEMPS: Lows should drop into the mid to upper teens region-wide

SKIES: Some clouds or a snow shower early, follwed by mostly sunny skies

WINDS: Light northwest winds

–OUR STAR WILL RISE AT: 6:45am this morning
–OUR STAR WILL SET AT: 7:07pm this evening
–OUR MOON WILL SET AT: 9:45am this morning
–OUR MOON WILL RISE AT: 12:35am tomorrow morning
–MOON PHASE: Waning Gibbous

SUMMARY:
–Good morning everybody, after a possible isolated snow shower, clouds will clear we’ll enjoy a cool, fair day
–Mostly clear skies will dominate tonight with calm winds and dry air, so radiational cooling maximizes as cold air seeps in from the north
–Tuesday will be cold for late March, with highs in the low 30s in the high terrain and into the upper 30s for many, with some low 40s in northern CT
–Lows will drop into the teens under clear skies
–High pressure moves east by mid week, and sunny skies will continue for Wednesday and Thursday
–Highs will be in the 40s on Wednesday, and 50s on Thursday
–Aside from a rain shower Thursday night with a frontal passage, we should remain dry for Friday into the weekend
–Highs Friday and Saturday should reach into the 60s over the valley and 50s in the high terrain
–Some showers are possible by Sunday with continued mild temperatures
–All in all, things are looking good
–However, I will spare you some of the model guidance that shows possible snow events in early April ;-)
