Good afternoon folks, I just wanted to post a fairly quick update for our Sunday as are set to move into and through the upcoming work week.
Dewpoints have settled into the 55-60º range today which has been quite lovely, especially compared with our recent 7-8 week soupy stretch, after what was truly relaxing, temperate and seasonable Spring of 2024.
While summer weather is not over, we have made it to the other side of the peak of the Summer of 2024, thankfully.
For this evening, we will likely see a few showers up in southern VT (especially Bennington County) before midnight, and some of those may drift into Windham County VT or graze northwest MA.
Lows tonight will dip into the mid to upper 50s under partly to mostly clear skies with a light west wind.
An upper level system swings east out of the Great Lakes and through northern NY and northern New England on Monday.
As a result, we will likely start off dry, but should see clouds bubble by afternoon, along with the development of scattered showers (some on the heavier side), and even a thunderstorm or two by and during the afternoon, all of which will dissipate at night.
Highs will be mostly in the low to mid 70s with some upper 70s possible in the southern CT River Valley.
Lows will dip to the low to mid 50s at night, so Tuesday morning early looks a touch Autumnal!
High pressure will continue to build eastward toward the east coast from the center of the country, and as such lower humidity should continue on drier northwest flow, with highs in the 75-80º range Tuesday, and either side of 80º on Wednesday under mostly sunny skies. Lows will sit down into the upper 50s.
By Thursday another upper wave moves through with a few more showers, and highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s under partly sunny skies, and lows near 60º.
As of now, Friday looks dry and nice with brief high pressure building into the region, but next weekend looks a bit inclement at the moment, though lots of uncertainty remains with regard to potential tropical systems and/or a northeast U.S. storm system.
I will continue to update, next posting first thing tomorrow/Monday morning followed by a brief update Tuesday evening as I try to get some sleep Tuesday morning while our weather looks clear into the middle of the upcoming work week.
