SUMMARY
–Black ice will form tonight following snow melt during the day. Lows will drop into the 20s overnight
–The valley will be breezy at times, but the Berkshires and hills will be downright windy with some gusts exceeding 35mph at times
–Wind chill readings could drop into the low teens at times
–For Friday, we should see high temps in the mid to upper 30s with plenty of sunshine and subsiding wind
–Lows Friday night will drop down to either side of 20 degrees, so more black ice is likely
–Saturday is another mostly sunny day as high pressures moves through the region and out of the way to make way for a very rainy Sunday
–Highs on Saturday should be in the 35-40 range again, with lows in the upper 20s as clouds build
–Mixed snow, sleet and freezing rain moves in after midnight and causes slick conditions to form by Sunday morning in a number of spots, especially north of the MassPike
–For Sunday, icing could hold on until mid to late morning in SVT, the western hilltowns and Berkshires/Litchfields/Taconics, but we will change to rain and warm into the low 40s on Sunday
–Sunday = a good soup-making day, as well as any indoor activities
–The Sunday night into Monday morning timeframe holds the potential for a very strong wind event as colder air moves into the region, so please stay tuned, as some isolated outages are possible
–Next week looks cold with highs in the 30s and lows near 20
–Some snow showers are possible by mid week, but a storm should miss to our south, but I will continue to watch it

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES CONTINUE UNTIL 10AM FOR SVT AND SWNH… AFTER SOME MORNING FREEZING DRIZZLE AND SLICK SPOTS, CONDITIONS WILL IMPROVE AS WE DRY OUT, SUN UP, AND UNDERGO A MILDENING… A SWEET, FAIR WEATHER STRETCH LASTS THROUGH SATURDAY… MIXED PRECIP TO RAIN LATE SAT. NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY, THEN COLDER AND FAIR EARLY NEXT WEEK… (8:05am Thursday)
Good morning everybody, as posted earlier, some serious motor vehicle accidents have transpired this morning (and last night), and with patchy freezing drizzle around for the next hour or two, you’ll need to exercise caution on the road ways. At least there’s no more steady precipitation, that has all shipped out to the east.
