WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES HAVE BEEN POSTED FOR FRIDAY MORNING FOR SVT, THE TACONICS, THE BERKSHIRES, FRANKLIN COUNTY, THE WESTERN HILLTOWNS, AND NORTHERN WORCESTER COUNTY… (6:10pm Wed)
Good evening everybody, snow sleet and freezing rain will move in late Thursday night across the region, and likely turn to rain early on Friday morning in valley locations.
However, in the higher terrain of southwestern New England in the aforementioned regions, snow, sleet and freezing rain may linger through Friday morning and accumulate up to an inch or so of snow and sleet, along with a tenth of an inch of icing possible by early Friday afternoon.
We should all change to rain by Friday afternoon, as southwest flow sweeps in milder air bringing highs temperatures up into the low 40s to low 50s.
I will post more tomorrow morning on this upcoming storm system…

ANOTHER PAIR OF DANDIES FOLLOWED BY THURSDAY NIGHT SNOW/ICE CHANGING TO FRIDAY RAIN… SATURDAY LOOKS NICE, BUT MORE SNOW OR MIXED PRECIP POSSIBLE FOR SUNDAY… NEW YEAR’S COULD ALSO BE THE OPPOSITE OF CLEMENT…
(6:30am Wed)
Good morning everybody, I hope you had an enjoyable day yesterday. It was packed with plenty of sunshine and seasonable temperatures, and this morning is packed with a level of coldness that I have issue with. Ahh, such is life in New England.
For today and tomorrow, we’re mostly sunny under high pressure with highs in the mid to upper 30s. Lows will dip into the teens tonight, and 20s tomorrow night as clouds build into the region.
The winds will turn southwesterly and an cold overrunning surface in place, snow and sleet will break out across the region late Thursday night.
We are expected to change to rain pretty fast on Friday as temps rise well into the 40s, but I still retain a level of leery-ness for icing to be prolonged in the high terrain WMass and SVT.
It should equate to about a half inch to inch of liquid water, so not a blockbuster, but not a little drizzle either.
Saturday is partly sunny with a mild start, but dropping temps during the day, bottoming out with lows in the 20s.
We then watch for a quick wave that could bring some snow showers on Sunday, with another chance at snow for New Year’s Eve into the day.
Still uncertainty remains, so stay tuned, and have a great day!
