–Morning snow showers and flurries in the southern Berkshires and northwest CT will abate this morning

–Lows will drop to near 30º and we should see snow break out across the region, and quickly mix with rain or sleet in the Pioneer Valley south of Greenfield and east through southern CMass and most of northern CT
–However, accumulating snow will fall for a time overnight in the Berkshires, western hills and along and north of the Rt. 2 corridor where 1-4″ could accumulate before mild air flips everyone to rain on Saturday morning
–Rain will fall heavily at times on Saturday and anywhere from 1-2.5″ of rainfall is possible before it winds down as some brief back end snow Saturday evening
–Flood Watches may need to be hoisted for CMass and northeast CT depending on trends going forward, and I will keep you updated
–Highs Saturday reach the low to mid 40s with lows near 30º
–Sunday is most definitely the pick of the weekend with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 30s to mid 40s
–Fair weather should extend into the early week period with highs coming up fully into the 40s, with more showers possible by mid-week

YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, how about that thunder yesterday, wow! I can’t remember the last time I saw a dozen lightning strikes with a snowy incoming squall line, though I know it was a mix/rain in the valley.
We will continue with blustery conditions today and wind gusts of 30-50mph across the region, but those highest gusts should be relegated to thee western MA high terrain west of the I-91 corridor, and should tamp down a bit into the afternoon.
It will be partly to mostly sunny and wind chills this morning in the single digits to teens will come up into the teens to 20s, so bundle up!
Also know that there is an increased risk of fire spread today for bare-grounded areas with low humidity and higher winds.
Lows dip to the teens tonight, very chilly for the second full day of Spring!
Friday looks lovely with high pressure building in and helping to create calmer winds and a sunny day with highs in the upper 30s to mid 40s with clouds increasing late.
I delve into it a bit in the Nutshell above, but Friday night into Saturday evening will feature our next big weather-maker, that being a coastal storm that will bring snow, ice, rain, and potential for flooding in eastern areas, so I will produce a report on that later this afternoon on just that storm.
So while Saturday looks stormy, Sunday looks lovely! Fair weather should continue into early next week as well before a frontal boundary brings more rain showers by mid-week.
Have a great day, and if you’re able and want to see my work continue here throughout 2024, it’s your modest support that keeps me on this job for you and yours (options include Cards, PayPal, Venmo, or Check, even $10 helps!)
>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
