YOUR WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
–Good morning sweet peas, you Delights of Dalton, you Princes of Petersham, you Queens of Cummington and Kings of Conway, arise!
–There is weather to discuss, although nothing Earth shattering, just some morning showers scattered about, especially north of the Pike until about noon, then we can get some drying underway
–It should be mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 40s to mid 50s, but if sun breaks out in northern CT, someone could hit 60º today
–Northwest gusts up to 20mph possible this evening, with lows into the mid 30s
–Saturday is looks nicer and nicer with partly to mostly sunny skies and highs well into the 50s as brief ridging builds in between showery systems
–Saturday night lows dip to the upper 30s as clouds increase
–Yet another wave will pass to our north and spread some showers into the region Sunday morning
–These will taper off by afternoon as a front slides through, but it may get breezy behind this frontal boundary with westerly gusts up to 25mph possible
–Highs Sunday reach the low 50s and then fall back into the upper 20s at night
–The Monday to Wednesday period looks dominated by northwesterly, moister, cyclonic flow due to a larger upper level trough parked over the northeastern U.S. and southeast Canada
–This will send more clouds than sun into our region, with breezy conditions throughout, and colder highs in the upper 30s to mid 40s
–The next shot of some showers would be Wednesday night into Thursday with another storm signal for the following Saturday with a few hilltown snow signals, so stay tuned… it is March after all!
YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, the Nutshell above paints the picture, but the bottom line is that we have a few more showers to get through north of the Pike this morning before a ridge to our southwest really starts drying us out later today, tonight and into Saturday, which is going to be your weekend pick, for sure.
It looks quite mild tomorrow with partly to mostly sunny skies and dry conditions before more showers move in on Sunday morning (though by Sunday afternoon, that progressive system may skedaddle and allow for a partly sunny Sunday afternoon).
A big ol’ upper trough will set up the first half of next week and send cooler northwest flow into our region, and windy conditions at times with highs in the 30s and 40s but no winter storms are in sight during that timeframe.
Lastly, Wednesday/Thursday could see some unsettled weather, with a bigger storm by next Saturday with some recent wintry signals, so stay tuned, and I’ll keep my weather periscope up and spinning 360º and report back to you all!
Have a great day, and if my work helps you through our stormy and sunny periods, please help keep it going throughout 2024 as it’s your support that keeps me on this job for you and yours (options include Cards, PayPal, Venmo, or Check, thank you!)

>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
