YOUR WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
–About 400 outages remain in Berkshire County MA and Litchfield County CT
–As high pressure nudges in from the south, a weakening pressure gradient is maintained until this evening
–This will produce west to northwest wind gusts of 20-40mph at times, slackening tonight
–Highs reach the upper 40s to upper 50s from north to south
–Skies will be mostly sunny, with clear, calm and dry conditions tonight
–This allows for radiational cooling and temps dropping into the upper 20s to low 30s for one more cold night before milder temps surge
Please help underpin this community resource,
Any amount helps, even $5 or $2/month:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
–Wednesday and Thursday are dominated by high pressure and southwest flow with partly to mostly sunny skies Wednesday, partly sunny skies Thursday, and highs both days in the low to mid 60s, with lows near 40º
–By Thursday late in the day or night, a few spots showers are possible
–A frontal boundary lifts toward the region and slows down, allowing some weak low pressure waves to ride along it
–For now, the best chance of rain is Friday and Friday night, and again on Sunday
–Highs will be in the 50s during the Friday through Sunday period, which will feature more clouds than sun
–By Monday, our Sunday system should pull in cooler with windier conditions
–No big storms in sight!

YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, we’ve had northwest wind gusts overnight peaking out in the mid 40s, with a 44mph gust at Barnes Air Base in Westfield, and 45mph at the Pittsfield Muni Airport.
It’ll be breezy this morning, and blustery at times with wind gusts in the 20-40mph range before slackening this afternoon.
With temps currently in the 20s in SVT and the Berkshires, and the 30s elsewhere, wind chills this morning will dip into the 20s at times, and even the upper teens in SVT, so have a layer to cover the cold, before highs shoot up into the 50s under full sunshine later today.
Winds calm tonight, and clear skies and dry air, radiational cooling will max out and drop us into the upper 20s to low 30s.
Starting tomorrow, we’ll see a pair of very mild days with highs in the low to mid 60s with more sun than clouds, prior to an unsettled period from late Thursday night into Sunday.
Details are still uncertain, despite Friday and Sunday being the most likely inclement weather days.
Stay tuned for updates, have a great day, and if my work helps you during the year, please help keep it going throughout 2024 as it’s your support that keeps me on this job for you and yours (options include Cards, PayPal, Venmo, or Check, thank you!)
>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
