>>> DAVE’S WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL <<<
–A rainy start, so pack the ‘brellas and keep the ‘brows raised for road condition alertness and also because it helps you stay open during problem solving
–Highs only in the upper 50s to mid 60s with a raw feel today
–Adding to the rawness will be easterly winds gusting 15-25mph at times
–Steady rain lasts until about mid-day, then as the storm slowly continues tracking east well to our south, that rain shield comes south with time
–Rain lasts the longest in northern CT today, looks like into the afternoon and possibly early evening before totally quitting
–Sunny breaks may form along/north of Rt. 2 corridor into SVT and SWNH late this afternoon
–Lows in the 40s tonight, mostly cloudy, a few showers in CT possible
–Partly sunny Tuesday and continued cool with onshore flow, highs upper 50s to mid 60s
–Wednesday into Friday is dominated by high pressure out of Quebec with abundant sun developing and highs 65-70º with lows either side of 50º
–Friday night into Saturday may see a weakening system push a few showers into the region, but not a washout, and with the potential for a nice weekend to develop by Saturday afternoon into Sunday, but before we talk details let’s check a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with their newest location in the Stop & Shop Plaza on King Street in Northampton, MA.

>>> MORNING DISCUSSION <<<
Good morning everybody, we’ve got two main bands of rainfall across the region this morning, one on either side of the Route 2 corridor in northern MA and another along and south of the MassPike in southern MA and northern CT, bit of a lull in parts of central/eastern Hampden County and eastern Hampshire County into central Worcester County.
Rain will continue to fall moderate to heavy at times, and visibility will be down with wet road ways for most of us.
Highs today will crest into the upper 50s to miid 60s and with easterly winds gusting 15-25mph it will be a rather raw day out there.
With time and by mid-day into the afternoon, this rain shield should slowly break up and sag south through MA and be more focused along and south of the Pike later this afternoon.
This is where the rainiest conditions will be today: northern CT.
Rain showers will continue to shift south toward sunset as the storm pulls away and take those rain-making dynamics with it, and we should even see some sunshine in SVT, SWNH and possibly even in northern MA by the day’s end.
A mostly cloudy night visits our shores tonight with remnant moisture milling about in a sort of meteorological purgatory between where it was and where it’s going, which is into the ethers. Lows will drop into the 40s and wind should slacken too.
Tuesday is a sort of in-between day as high pressure from Quebec starts to assert its influence, which will help develop partly sunny skies with cool highs either side of 60º, with COLD lows in the upper 30s to low 40s!
Wednesday into Friday is entirely dominated by the aforementioned high pressure system with mostly sunny skies and highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s with a light wind.
Clouds may build into the region by Friday afternoon as a frontal boundary and associated weakening upper level system tracks east. This feature could produce a few showers Friday night into Saturday morning.
Aside from that, I think we see the resumption of fair weather Sunday into early next week, but it’s a long ways off, so check back with me and keep up my pecking-typist weather reporting activities for you and yours, peace!! Have a great day!
>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
