DAVE’S WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL
–A few breaks of sun are possible this earlier morning, but ongoing showers and drizzle for folks north of Rt. 2 begets more clouds and scattered showers developing elsewhere today and tonight
–Small hail is unlikely today, as is graupel or thunder, but cool and cloudy conditions will prevail
–Scattered showers tonight, continued cool and cloudy
–Upper low is already pulling away tomorrow, but scattered showers and cool northeast flow develop
–By Thursday night into Friday we’re drying, though can’t rule out an isolated shower or three on Friday, partly sunny

MORNING DISCUSSION
Good morning folks, our dopey, sloppy, lazy, aimless upper low is going to finally get a foothold on a direction in this crazy life, and has decided to pack its sopping bags and head southeast and out to sea through tomorrow. Bon Voyage, Buddy!

I’m sure few here will lament the passing of this damp plague, being the second such system in as many weeks to dampen many spirits.

But the patient folk in our ranks will come to enjoy the sweet, sunny Spring conditions that are on the way, beginning Friday, but taken full flight over the weekend and into early next week.

Hopefully these recent rains will combine with upcoming sun and warmth to get the growing season rooted and footed properly for the next phase with produce being produced more earnestly by next month – here’s hoping for meteorological cooperation!

For today and tomorrow, it’s more of the same: more clouds, showers, some drizzle, some patchy fog, light wind, and cool temps in the 50s, which is quite below seasonable for early May.

We’ll start this morning mostly dry, save for some drizzle patches and north-of-route-2 showers, but showers and clouds will develop and thicken by late morning into the afternoon as our upper low begins to swing towards us.

This upper level system’s center will pass southeast through the northern Mid-Atlantic region overnight and out to sea Thursday, and as it does so, will help generate some scattered showers, but also keep our wind and flow turned out of the east and northeast, which is an onshore wind and a cooling flow.

Lows tonight with a few showers and patchy fog or drizzle will dip into the upper 30s to low 40s.

For Thursday, one more day of the same: mostly cloudy along with some scattered showers and highs in the upper 40s to mid 50s, but hopefully by afternoon we’ll be drying with time as the low pulls further away and out to sea.

Still, it will be chilly and gusts could get up to 20mph at times in some areas. Lows again will drop to either side of 40º Thursday night with a few isolated showers.

Friday is our transition day as the low keeps pulling away and as such keeps a northerly wind in our region, so temps will come up to the mid 50s to low 60s with some partial sunshine, along with a few isolated showers. Lows at night drop to near 40º as we continue to dry out the atmospheric column.

Then the weekend arrives, and I must say, if you’re a work-a-day, Monday through Friday worker, I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen such a truly GORGEOUS and dare I say, perfect weather weekend shaping up to enjoy and soak up in every way, in full support of any outdoor plans.

Highs reach well into the 60s on Saturday with mostly sunny skies and lows in the low to mid 40s, and highs will again be in the 60s Sunday, with some low 70s in the lower Pioneer Valley with more sunshine!

And if that weren’t good enough news after weeks of dreariness, these sunny and warm conditions will likely last through Tuesday, and possibly into Wednesday by which time a front may move through the region, and cool us down a bit.

Regardless, we’ve got 4-5 days of gorgeous, Spring conditions coming up, so do all the fun things with your fun people and enjoy.
