Western Mass Weather for September 7, 2022

Good morning folks, we’ve got temps in the 50s and 60s this morning with a few patches of fog.

Given onshore flow today, we’ll remain mostly cloudy today with a bit of drizzle or an early isolated shower possible.

However, sunshine will return tomorrow through the weekend with warming temps and another shot at rain early next week, but before we dive into all of the weather details below, let’s check a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with their newest location in West Springfield, MA.

WEATHER REPORT
Good morning everybody, I hope everyone’s lawns, gardens, flowers, and vegetables are showing signs of happiness. Obviously, even with a great multi-day rainfall like we just received, it doesn’t solve everything, but it certainly helped so that’s a good thing.

A good friend, sometime-boss, and mentor of mine once shared with me the concept of “wrong direction / right direction”, as a way to more simply break down the actions we take and how they impact our lives and others, and this most certainly fits in the “right direction” category.

For today, we still have onshore easterly and northeasterly flow in place as another area of low pressure passes to our south.

This will help keep substantial cloudiness in the region, but we should see some sunny breaks at times, too, with highs in the 60s to low 70s with fairly comfortable humidity.

Lows tonight will drop into the 50s for all of us, and may touch the upper 40s in the southern Greens of VT.

By Thursday, high pressure now located in and centered over the western Great Lakes will continue to track east into the eastern Great Lakes and bring us a mostly sunny day with fair weather and highs in the mid to upper 70s with one last day of light onshore flow. Lows will drop into the low to mid 50s.

For Friday, highs will rise into the mid 70s to low 80s with sunshine, and lows will drop into the mid 50s… fair weather returns!

High pressure moves offshore, and develops a southerly flow over the weekend, which will push highs into the upper 70s to low 80s each day with lows in the mid to upper 50s as fair weather continues with light wind and comfortable humidity.

By early next week, however, our high pressure system tracks further east and offshore, helping to draw more humid air back into the region, as an upper level system moves into the eastern Great Lakes, and clouds us up.

Our next chance of rain showers arrives by Monday night through Tuesday night, though it doesn’t look as substantial as what we just experienced.

Still, more rain looks to move through, and whatever amount falls, the ground beneath our feet and all that springs skyward from it will certainly put a smile on its face.

Have a great day!

“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
