Good morning everybody, thanks again for all of your reports yesterday, many areas verified in the snow ranges offered, but some definitely fell below, notably on the valley floor (Western Mass Snow Lovers’ Triangle of Disappointment strikes again).
I’m a huge snow lover as you know, but even I am finally calling uncle on this winter. Time for Spring.
And wouldn’t you know it, some times I have good timing, because our first extended taste of Spring weather is arriving this week.
First, we have to get through one more legit late winter day/night pair, and right now it’s freakin’ cold out!
Temps are in the upper singles to teens for the most part, with wind chills in the single digits above and below zero given that winds are still gusting up to 35mph in spots out of the northwest as this last parcel of cold Canadian air continues to advect into the region today.
Regardless, we’ll have a mostly sunny day with winds slow throttling back to gusts in the 20-25mph range by afternoon, with highs in the upper 20s to mid 30s for the day, with maybe a few upper 30s in northern CT.
For tonight, winds will become light to calm as high pressure finally tracks just south of us, relaxes the pressure gradient, and simultaneously allows radiational cooling while sending a milder southwest flow into the region, which are opposite forces.
This will keep lows from crashing further than the low to mid 20s with some upper teens possible in SVT.
For Monday and Tuesday, zonal across the U.S. commences with milder Pacific air overspreading the country.
We’ll see highs rising into the 45-50º range Monday under mostly sunny skies with lows in the 30s, and then temps should rise well into the 50s Tuesday under mostly cloudy skies (especially by afternoon) with lows in the 30s.
Clouds increase Tuesday night with a little waif of a wave rippling through that will bring some rain showers, maybe mixed with snow north of Rt. 2, no big whoop folks.
Behind that wave comes the real Mildening, with highs in the 50s Wednesday, upper 50s to low 60s Thursday and well into the 60s on Friday!!
Our bones are laughing with glee!
Our skin pores are opening to the heavens!
Our eyes are widening with delight!
You get the picture, weather that’s easier on our bodies is coming.
You know, weather that doesn’t weather us as much as Winter does.
Beyond that, next Saturday looks a bit cooler with rain possible, but we’ll refine that as we get closer.
AM I YOUR WEATHER GUY?
Keep my calloused fingers pecking away at all hours of the day or night, so I can keep you on top of our incoming weather impacts. I love to type!
