WEATHER BULLETIN:
–There’s not a ton to talk about for the next 7 days, with the main story being that Thanksgiving Day looks as perfect as you could hope for with partly sunny skies, dry conditions, and highs near 50º
–Before the holiday, we have a pair of sunny, but cold days, with our first chilly wind chill readings worthy of discussion
–For today, it’s cold, as in freezing for some, as in we’re not likely to not rise above the freezing mark in the high terrain of southern VT, with mid to upper 30s for much of the greater WMass/CMass region down into northern CT
–Northwest winds will gust to 25mph, and most of us will see wind chill readings BELOW the freezing mark so bundle up!
–Tonight temps will plummet into the upper teens, maybe even some mid teens in far, elevated northwest MA and the southern Green Mountains of VT
–With some northwest wind gusts to 15mph, wind chills could reach the low to mid teens! Brrr!
–Wednesday is sunny and not as cold, but still chilly with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s with less wind, and lows in the mid 20s
–Thanksgiving Day rules, with partly sunny skies, light wind, highs upper 40s to low 50s as southerly flow moves in for one day
–Late at night, lows will get down to about freezing before some mixed rain and snow showers move in with a cold front
–These rain and snow showers continue on Friday with highs in the mid 30s to mid 40s, and some coatings are possible in northwest MA and southern VT
–Fair and cold weather returns Saturday through Monday with highs only in the 35-40º range
–However, no big storms of rain or snow on the horizon
–Instead we’ll focus on building in the colder temperatures as we head towards the beginning of meteorological winter which starts December 1
MONTE’S MARCH 12 AND DHTWN THEME SONG
I want to remind you about something that’s important to me, which is that Monte Belmonte from WRSI The River 93.9FM concludes his 2-day, 43 mile march to end hunger in the WMass region by walking from Northampton to Greenfield today to raise money for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts.
You can donate to help feed your neighbors if you have the resources to do so by clicking the link below AND if you wish you can listen to (and hopefully buy) the new Dave Hayes The Weather Nut Theme Song that my good friend and insanely talented drummer/musician J.J. O’Connell wrote for me, and (unbeknownst to me) got me to play the bass line on.
Just click either of the links below, and all money donated either at the Food Bank or through the BandCamp page of JJ’s band “Spouse” goes to help our neighbors in need by supporting the WMass Food Bank, thank you!
