Western Mass Weather for October 1, 2021

OUR STAR CONTINUES TO BE VISIBLE OVERHEAD… SOME SCATTERED LIQUID HYDROMETEORS MAY WORK THROUGH NORTHERN MA, SVT AND SWNH TUESDAY AFTERNOON… OTHERWISE A WARM FRONT COMBINES WITH AN UPPER LEVEL SYSTEM TO PRODUCE SHOWERS, HEAVY AT TIMES LATE SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT, LASTING INTO PART OF TUESDAY… DRIER WEATHER MID TO LATE WEEK, THOUGH MORE LOFTED VAPOR SHAPES WILL BLOCK OUT OUR STAR AT TIMES… 2022 WEATHER CALENDAR SALE LAUNCHES IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS… 7:10AM SAT…

Good morning everybody, we have a truly lovely day on tap with milder temps and plenty of sunshine, with more of a partly sunny day developing in southern VT and southwest NH later in the day.

Highs will reach the upper 60s to low 70s and lows will tamp down into the low 50s, with a spot shower possible in northern parts of Bennington and Windham Counties.

For Sunday, we’ll start off with mostly sunny skies, but as a warm front pushes toward us from the southwest, and along with it, some increased humidity. Highs will soar into the upper 60s to mid 70s.
Clouds will build during Sunday afternoon, and we can’t rule out a spot shower or two.

However, the heavier rains will hold off until just before or around midnight in our southwest zones, like northwest CT and southern Berkshire County. Lows will dip into the low to mid 50s.

As the front presses in from the southwest and combines with lift from an upper level system nearby, this combo will produce rainfall, heavy at times on Monday and into Monday night. 1-2″ of rainfall looks possible, and some minor flooding issues may result by Monday evening. Lows will drop into the 50s.

Monday night into Tuesday look quite wet at this moment as the front stalls near/around our WMass region. Boundaries generally produce lift, and lift produces precipitation, so expect showery times and climes.
By Tuesday, showers should relent by afternoon.

The mid to late period looks drier, but cloudier in general, with highs in the mid to upper 60s.

Humidity may increase late in the week or next weekend with another punch of milder air.

Have a great day and enjoy your weekend!
