Good morning everybody, we’ve got a wide range of temperatures across the WMass region with low to mid 30s up in southern VT, southwest NH and the high terrain of northwest MA, and mid 50s in parts of north-central and northeast CT, trying to nudge up into southern Worcester County, with upper 30s and 40s in a lot of WMass.
This is thanks to a snaky warm front that will try to lift further north, but may get hung up and stall out, making temps a big pain in the butt to figure out today across the region.
We also have patchy dense fog in parts of the region this morning, notably in southern and western Worcester County, up into eastern Franklin county and southwest NH, and also the central and southern Berkshires, with less dense fog in the CT River Valley and other spots. Some folks have 10-mile visibility, meaning no fog.
I have a hard time seeing this warm front getting further north than either the Rt. 9 or Rt. 2 corridors in MA, which means areas north of there may stay in the upper 30s to mid 40s today, with highs in the mid 40s to low 50s south of there.
If you are doing an outdoor gathering, you should be ready to bundle up additionally in case the warm front doesn’t clear your area.
As for rain, once this heavy area of rain tracks east and out of here by mid morning, we should get a break for a few hours, with some drizzle or a light shower possible.
Then we look to the low center itself over western NY and tracking east, which has quite a bit of energy with it.
This will bring an additional line of showers, and possible downpours or even a thunderstorm through by early to mid afternoon.
It still looks like the bulk of if not all of the rain is out of here between 2-4pm from west to east (Pittsfield to Worcester), but there’s a low chance it could be gone sooner – here’s hoping.

Patchy dense fog is possible overnight tonight and that may last into Friday morning, with lows in the low 40s and highs Friday in the low to mid 50s under partly sunny skies.
Highs in the mid to upper 40s under mostly sunny skies for the weekend, with a spot shower Saturday evening possible.
Monday night into Tuesday looks very stormy still, but we’ll deal with those details starting tomorrow morning.
For now, have a wonderful Thanksgiving, stay safe, and try to be grateful for what you do have, even though many of us are not gathering the way we traditionally or ideally would want to this year, and are missing friends and family today.
